Our Services
The landscape of immersive technology is richer and more varied than ever. At MadMicrobe Studios, we leverage the latest advancements in hardware to deliver our experiences:
Virtual Reality (VR)
The Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive Pro 2 are our go-to VR headsets, offering unparalleled clarity and responsiveness. These devices allow us to create fully immersive environments where users can explore complex medical subjects in a virtual space.
With high-resolution displays and precise tracking, our VR experiences are both educational and awe-inspiring.
Augmented Reality (AR)
For AR applications, the Microsoft HoloLens 2 remains a powerful tool. This headset overlays digital information onto the real world, allowing users to interact with 3D medical models and animations seamlessly.
The HoloLens 2’s advanced sensors and ergonomic design make it ideal for extended use in educational and clinical settings.
Interactive Touch Screen
Trade shows are a prime opportunity to engage with industry professionals and showcase innovations. At MadMicrobe Studios, we specialize in creating interactive touch screen experiences that captivate and inform. Our interactive displays allow users to navigate through detailed medical animations, access information at their fingertips, and interact with content in a meaningful way.
We use high-end touch screen kiosks and tables, such as the Samsung Flip and Microsoft Surface Hub, to ensure that our presentations are both visually stunning and highly functional. These interactive experiences not only draw attention but also leave a lasting impression, making them an invaluable tool for trade show booths.
360-Degree Stereoscopic Animation
For a truly immersive experience, nothing compares to full 360-degree stereoscopic animations. We create content for full dome theaters and igloos, providing a wrap-around visual experience that places viewers at the center of the act ion. Using state-of-the-art 360 cameras and advanced rendering techniques, we produce stereoscopic animations that are both educational and breathtaking.
Our full dome experiences are designed for planetariums and large-scale event spaces, offering a unique way to present medical concepts to large audiences. Igloo experiences, on the other hand, provide an intimate setting where small groups can explore medical animations in a fully immersive environment. These experiences are ideal for educational institutions, museums, and special events.

Frequently asked questions
What should I consider when planning VR for a medical congress?
Virtual Reality (VR) is an excellent tool for explaining complex medical stories in an immersive environment.
However, success depends on three key factors:
- Interactivity vs. Fidelity: Do you want Real-time VR (interactive, game-like, user-driven) or Pre-rendered VR (a passive, high-quality 3D video experience)? You can also choose a Hybrid approach, mixing interactive moments with high-fidelity cinematic sequences. Note that pre-rendered content usually offers higher visual quality, while real-time offers more freedom.
- Booth Logistics: Space is premium at a congress. Will your users be seated or standing? This dictates the footprint required.
- Hardware: Will the headsets be tethered (connected to a PC for power) or wireless?”
Do I need specialist hardware to run an AR experience at my medical booth?
Not necessarily. It depends on the level of immersion you want.
Tablets & Smartphones (Most Common): For most AR experiences, standard iPads or tablets are the best choice. They offer high-resolution screens that make detailed anatomical textures pop, and they are easy for visitors to pick up and use immediately. Medical 3D models often have high-fidelity textures that require the processing power of a modern device. Using a dedicated tablet also prevents friction – attendees don’t need to use their own battery or data to engage with your science.
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): We can also build “WebAR” experiences. This allows attendees to scan a QR code on your booth wall and view the animation instantly on their own smartphones—no app download or special hardware required.
Headsets (Premium Experience): If you want a hands-free, fully immersive experience (like a surgical simulation), we can develop for devices like the HoloLens or Magic Leap. However, this requires a dedicated space and hygiene protocols.
I have an existing animation. Can you turn it into an interactive trade show experience?
Yes. We can repurpose existing animations by creating ‘branching’ narratives or adding interactive overlays that allow users to choose which parts of the anatomy or procedure they want to explore. This gives your existing assets a second life as a trade show engagement tool.
Additionally, If you have the original 3D source files, we can take it a step further by importing the assets into a game engine for a fully immersive, real-time experience.
