What is included in a medical animation project?
Our “script-to-screen” service includes everything you need for a finished medical animation. We manage the entire process, from script, storyboards, and styleframes to the final medical animation. Your project will be delivered in any resolution you need (including HD and 4K), and can be packaged with supplemental print materials or PowerPoint slides. We also handle all audio, including music, sound design, and professional narration. For a more immersive experience, we can extend the project into VR, AR, or 360-degree video.
How is subject-matter accuracy ensured in medical animation?
We ensure the highest quality and scientific accuracy through a meticulous, multi-stage review process led by our team of science experts and artists. From the very beginning, we work closely with your team to guarantee that the core science is correct.
Accuracy is built-in at every step, starting with a heavily researched and client-approved script. This serves as the foundation for the entire project. Throughout the storyboarding, design, and medical animation phases, we have dedicated checkpoints for your review and feedback, ensuring the visual representation is both cinematically beautiful and scientifically precise.
This collaborative, iterative process guarantees the final medical animation is a true and accurate reflection of your vision.
How long does it take to create a typical medical animation?
While every project has unique needs, a standard medical animation is typically completed in about 12 weeks through a phased approach. Our process is built for clarity and collaboration, ensuring you are involved at every critical step.
Script (3 Weeks): This foundational stage involves working closely with your team to research and write a scientifically accurate script that effectively tells your story.
Storyboard and Styleframes (3 Weeks): Once the script is approved, we create the visual blueprint. Storyboards map out the sequence of shots, while styleframes establish the distinct aesthetic, colour palette, and overall feel of your animation.
Animatic/Rough Cut (3 Weeks): This is where your medical animation begins to take shape. We create a rough-cut animatic, which is a simplified version of the final product, to establish the timing, pacing, and flow of the narrative before committing to a final, detailed rendering.
Final Deliverable (3 Weeks): In the final stage, we complete the detailed medical animation, adding textures, lighting, and visual effects. This phase also includes professional sound design, music, and narration before we render and deliver the final high-resolution video files.
How much does medical animation cost and what affects pricing?
To determine the price for a medical animation, we start with the video’s length. A good estimate is that every 120 words of the script equals one minute of animation. From there, we customise the quote based on the specific services you need.
